About
Elizabeth Benson is a material-led artist working with cloth as a responsive system. Using plant tannins, iron and natural fibres, her practice investigates how material behaviours unfold through conditions of moisture, time and exposure.
Rather than imposing fixed composition, she works through processes of reaction, allowing colour and form to emerge from interaction between fibres, minerals and environment. Cloth becomes a site of ongoing material afterlife, where structure, process and environment remain in continuous negotiation.
She is based in North East Wales and London, UK
